Love to cook but tired of restaurant drudgery? Non-profit, 15-bed residential AIDS care facility needs cook for breakfast and lunch Sat AMs, 7a.m.-12:30 p.m. Good for someone needing a little extra work. Our food program has an excellent reputation and is non-institutional. We serve 3 meals a day for 15-30 people (residents, staff, volunteers and guests). Our clients are asking for our help at a critical time in their lives; do something meaningful with your skills. Poss. additional shifts available. Seeking skilled cooks with integrity and compassion. Our clients have no time for flakes. You may learn more about us at $15/hr to start. Required skills:
*Able to prepare restaurant-quality food
*Good communication skills
*Flexible, reliable, team player
*Also able to work alone
*Able to follow recipes (read English, do math, multiply)
*Able to have meals ready at scheduled times
*Maintain safe and sanitary kitchen for our immune-compromised clients
*Willing to do cleanup and wash dishes
*Able to direct staff, volunteers and residents regarding food service in an
assertive but friendly manner
*Kitchen is open. You are the host and can maintain/create a warm and
welcoming environment
*Maintain professional boundaries with residents

*Culinary degree/training and 1 year solid cooking experience in restaurant
or residential setting
* Physical exam and TB screening required
* Pass criminal background check
* Knowledge of special dietary needs of HIV+, diabetic and renal
diets a plus
*Experience and demonstrated ability to prepare nutritionally balanced
meals for 15-50 people
*Experience in a residential or medical setting
*Food Safety Certification
*Able to lift 50 lbs.
*Experience with people from a wide variety of cultural and social backgrounds
